Wareham assisted living facility projected to create jobs
New jobs and senior housing options are coming to Wareham as construction begins on a 54,000-square-foot assisted living facility.
Located in the Rosebrook Business Park, the facility is part of a chain called All American Assisted Living, and it’s slated to open in spring or early summer in 2017. New Jersey-based developer Kaplan Development Group LLC broke ground at the site last week.
Seth Dudley, Kaplan’s vice president of sales and marketing, said the development will house 112 beds inside 58 units, which include four studios and 54 shared living apartments.
“We’re excited to be in Wareham,” said Dudley. “It’s going to be a great project and there definitely is a need in the area. Since we broke ground, there’s been a tremendous amount of interest.”
Dudley said the project will create 75 new jobs. Starting in four to five months, the company will open a trailer in Rosebrook where prospective employees may go for applications in person.
“We’d love to talk to folks that are interested in working for us or who may want to live in the facility,” said Dudley.

According to Kaplan’s website, positions are open for certified nursing assistants, nurse managers, activity assistants, chefs, housekeepers and maintenance personnel.
In addition to housing, the two-story complex will offer activity, dining, recreational and medical facilities.
Design plans show each unit is approximately 565 square feet, with bedrooms measuring 110 square feet. Smaller units encourage residents to leave their rooms and socialize, according to Kaplan representatives.
As proposed, the first floor includes the following rooms: parlor, dining, back patio, library, arts and crafts and laundry.
Kaplan representatives said there will be a socialization program that includes daily activities and transportation.
As planned, there will be 25 employees on duty per shift, but only five or six full-time staff members. Full-time employees include a director of nursing, an executive director, a director of business, a director of sales and marketing and a memory care coordinator for Alzheimer’s patients.
The development is targeted mostly towards people 80 years and older who require daily assistance. According to the Kaplan Development Group, the business operates similar communities in Raynham and Hanson.
