Wareham Fire Department installs antennas to improve safety
Mar 23, 2010
The Wareham Fire Department will be placing public-safety antennas, including transmitters, on two water towers in town, the department announced last week. One will be on the new water tower behind the Glen Charlie Road Fire Station, and the other will be placed on the West Wareham Water Tank. The antennas are ten-feet tall by two-feet wide.
The antennas will enable the department to triangulate signals and balance the new Fireground Radio Channel throughout the Wareham Fire District. There is an antenna already in operation on the Bourne Hill Water Tank on Indian Neck Road.
