The Wareham Free Library will be holding a consumer protection program, titled “Spot the Scam!” on Tuesday, April 10 at 4 p.m . The program, which will be held in the meeting room of the library, will be put on by the New Bedford Local Consumer Program.

It’s estimated that con artists steal an estimated $3 billion dollars a year from seniors via phone calls, mail fraud and fake e-mails. Come to this interactive program to find out how you can spot the scam and protect yourself.

The New Bedford Local Consumer Program operates out of the City’s Department of Community Services. Funded by and working in cooperation with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, the New Bedford Local Consumer Program provides free information and mediation to area consumers.
