Wareham High School Alumni Association scholarship applications available
The Wareham High School Alumni Association has applications available for its Residential Scholarship in the amount of $500.
Applicants must have been a resident of the town of Wareham for at least two years and must provide documentation with their application to prove residency. Rent receipts, tax statements, and voter registration are examples of proof of residency.
Applicants may not be 2011 Wareham High School graduates as these students have a different scholarship awarded to them. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited, degree granting two- or four-year college as a new student or may be any student who is already enrolled in college, providing their legal residence is the Town of Wareham.
All applicants must complete the application form supplied by the Wareham High School Alumni Association and are responsible for seeing that all required documents are forwarded to the Scholarship Committee before the deadline of August 1. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Students who are awarded the Wareham High School Alumni Association Scholarship must be enrolled in a college as described above. The full scholarship will be paid directly to the college at the end of the first semester only after submission to the Scholarship Committee of an official transcript of the first semester grades, evidence of enrollment for the following semester, and proof of continued Wareham residency.
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that transcripts are received no later than April 1, 2012.
