The Wareham High School Art Club launches shoe drive fundraiser
Be a shoe-per star and give back to the community.
The Wareham High School Art Club is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser through Friday, Dec. 19 to raise funds for field trips and other enrichment opportunities. The club will earn funds based on the total weight of pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes.
Shoes include boots, crocs, flip flops, cleats, dance shoes, tap shoes, sneakers and flats. The club cannot accept anything with holes, rips or tears, nor can it take ice skates, roller skates and rollerblades
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of small business partners. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house families.
The club is hosting a number of drop-off opportunities during the shoe drive before upcoming school events: Friday, Dec. 5, the Viking Theatre Company's opening night of A Christmas Carol, Tuesday, Dec 9 at the 4 p.m. varsity boys’ basketball game, Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the 4:30 p.m. girls' varsity basketball game and at the 6 p.m. winter concert the same night.
