Wareham High School students clean up the Canal

Wareham High School students from the National Honor Society and the Junior Reserves Officers' Training Corps partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and AmeriCorps to participate in the annual Cape Cod Canal Cleanup, as part of the Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 25.

The students worked on the eastern end of the Canal at the Scusset Beach State Reservation. They placed educational signboards, a fishing line recycling point, trash receptacle, bike stands and park benches, and collected trash.

The students who participated were Amber Borden, Griffen Butler, Jeffrey Cifello, Patricia Cooney, Kelsey Edwards, Josh Lima, Evan Russell, and Noah Wambolt.
