Wareham to host economic summit on Saturday
"Wareham Works," a community and economic summit, will be held in the Wareham High School auditorium on Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than 1,000 invitations have been sent to South Coast area businesses, with the goal of highlighting the numerous business and community opportunities in Wareham, Town Administrator Mark Andrews said.
The summit will feature workshops on economic development, community development, and housing. Attendees will be able to learn about topics ranging from small-business lending to affordable housing.
Andrews said the workshops will be interactive, and attendees will be encouraged to ask questions of the workshop panels.
"I think it's exciting," Andrews said. "Out of this, we may get three or four dozen 'live leads'" from businesses who might be looking to relocate in or move to Wareham. The summit will also provide an opportunity for Wareham businesses to network with each other, he said.
