Wareham Kindergarten registration set for March 12, 13

District wide registration for kindergarten at Wareham Public Schools will take place on March 12 and 13 at the John W. Decas Elementary School, located at 760 Main St.

Children must be 5 years of age on or before Oct. 1 to register.

Registration on Tuesday, March 12, will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.

Registration on Wednesday, March 13, will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m., 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

In the event of snow or a school closing, registration will be postponed.

Parents are required to bring their child’s birth certificate, a photo ID, proof of residence and proof of up-to-date immunizations to registration.

Under Massachusetts state law, immunizations must include: five immunizations of Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (DPT); four doses of Polio vaccine (OPV or IPV); two combined immunizations of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); three doses of Hepatitis B; two doses of Varicella; and one Lead Test Result from a physician.

Registered students will be required to complete a physical examination within one year prior to entrance to school or within 30 days after school entry.
