Wareham man arrested after allegedly firing a handgun at his girlfriend

A Wareham man was arrested after allegedly firing a handgun at his live-in girlfriend on Saturday, according to Wareham Police.

During the domestic incident, that occurred on Friday, police said 27-year-old Michael Fula fired a handgun in the direction of his live-in girlfriend, who was not injured. Fula fled the scene, according to a statement released by the Wareham Police Department.

Police stopped Fula on Cranberry Highway at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday night following an investigation of a reported domestic incident, according to the statement.

Following Saturday’s arrest, police searched Fula’s home located at 173 Tihonet Road. Although the weapon used during the domestic assault incident was not recovered, police did recover handgun ammunition clips and ammunition, along with 39 Oxycontin pills that were not prescribed, according to the statement.

Police said a boat and motor stolen from a Wareham resident earlier this summer was also recovered during the search. Police confiscated more than $1200 cash during the earlier motor vehicle stop and arrest, according to the statement.

Fula was arraigned on Monday, August 22 in Wareham District Court. Fula has been charged with assault with dangerous weapon to with a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID Card, receiving stolen property, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
