A Wareham man has been charged with breaking into Plymouth’s 1820 Courthouse on Tuesday.

Twenty-five-year-old Jake Shulenburg of West Wareham and 22-year-old Dylan Baker of Plymouth were charged with breaking and entering at night for a felony, possession of burglary tools and trespassing.

The courthouse, located on Obery Street, is currently under a multi-million renovation. According to Plymouth Police, a resident reported suspicious activity at the courthouse. Upon arrival, police said Baker and Shulenburg were seen exiting a rear window of the building at approximately 1 a.m.

There is no glass in the windows during the construction, but the windows are covered in plastic. Police said both men had knives, which were used to cut the plastic sheeting. According to police, there was no damage inside and nothing was taken.
