Wareham man joins board of directors at NEADS World Class Service Dogs

Feb 2, 2021

Geoffrey Worrell, a Wareham resident, has joined the Board of Directors for NEADS: World Class Service Dogs.

NEADS, a nonprofit, trains service dogs to work with people with a wide variety of needs and to serve as therapy dogs in settings like hospitals and courthouses.

Worrell, a loan officer with Mortgage Network, Inc., first sponsored a NEADS service dog along with his three children to honor the memory of his partner and late wife, Cindy, who lost her battle with cancer in 2016. The family chose NEADS to honor Cindy’s passion for giving back and her genuine love of dogs.

That dog, Bentley, is proudly serving as an assistance dog in Mansfield Public Schools.

Seeing the impact Bentley has made, Worrell and his family decided to sponsor another dog, Ruby, who is currently in training at NEADS.

Worrell lives in Wareham with his happy golden retriever, Kona.
