The Wareham Police Department saw a busy week with multiple arrests made within days of each other.

On Saturday, Aug. 11, Rebecca Dixon, 31, of Wareham was arrested at about 12:45 a.m. by Officers Ryan Gomes and Christopher Corner. Dixon is charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace following an incident at Wendy’s. Police said she was later found walking in the middle of the travel lane on Cranberry Highway.

On Tuesday, Aug. 14, Jaime Zornitsky, 27, of Mashpee, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. by Officers Calib Larue and Corner. Zornitsky is charged with operating after suspension (subsequent offense), failure to identify self to police and speeding. The arrest was made on Cranberry Highway following a motor vehicle stop.

Chloe Gulick, 21, of Lakeville was also arrested Tuesday, Aug. 14, by Officer James White at 9:45 a.m. Gulick is charged with operating after suspension as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranberry Highway. Gulick was previously arrested for the same offense on Aug. 6.

At about 11:45 a.m., Jacqueline Pacheco, 31, of Wareham was arrested following a disturbance on Main Street. Officers Zina Kelsch and Jon Verhaegen, as well as two security officers from Tobey Hospital, were reportedly assaulted during the incident.

While in the cruiser, Pacheco allegedly kicked the back door hard enough to cause damage to the car. She is charged with two counts of assault and battery on a Police Officer, two counts of assault and battery, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and destruction of property.

Later, around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the back of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Barker Road for reports of a man with a knife. At the scene, Officers Jennifer Braley, Michael Phinney and Justin Silveira encountered Richard Edmonds, 58, of East Wareham who was causing a disturbance.

Edmonds was ordered to show his hands and reportedly refused, becoming combative and defiant with officers. Edmonds allegedly lunged at Braley and a struggle ensued.

Edmonds was eventually handcuffed and transported to police headquarters. He was not found to be in possession of a knife. Edmonds is charged with assault, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

On Wednesday, Aug. 15, at about 8:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to Santoro’s Pizza on Depot Street for a disturbance in the parking lot. At the scene, officers encountered a man in a car, Vincent Crawford, 63, of Lumberton, New Jersey, with a woman motioning for him to stop. According to police, Crawford began to drive towards the woman and then slammed on the brakes just before hitting her.

After an investigation, it was determined that Crawford had nearly hit another vehicle in the lot before officers arrived. The woman Crawford nearly hit was attempting to confront him. Crawford then reportedly yelled at police that he was going to run down who ever got in his way. He was placed under arrest by Officers Nate Aronson and Blaise Lalli and is being charged for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Later, at 9:30 p.m. James Lewkowicz, 45, of Wareham was arrested by Officers Justin Silveira and Jennifer Braley on Eunice Avenue. Lewkowicz had an active default warrant for his arrest.

At 10:30 p.m., police responded to Carver Road for a reported disturbance. Robert Stendzis, 27, of Wareham was arrested by Officer Stephen Harrison for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

In addition to these arrests, police say there were five others arrested. Details cannot be released due to state law.
