Wareham Police make 2 OUI arrests in 1 day after crashes
Wareham Police arrested two drivers hours apart Tuesday on operating under the influence charges after separate crashes.
Debra Scaltreto, 61, of Onset, was arrested on Oct. 30 after police said she struck a telephone pole near 15 Onset Ave. Officers Charles Pillsbury and Blaise Lalli responded to the scene at about 4:15 p.m. Scaltreto was arrested following an investigation.
Later that same day, police arrested Arnold Williams, 65, of Wareham after a crash at 58 Main St. at about 9:45 p.m. Officers reported finding a damaged car in the middle of the road at that address. Police said a parked car appeared to have been struck as well. Officer Joseph Cardoza arrested Williams at the scene.
Both drivers are charged with operating under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police said no injuries were reported in either crash.
