Wareham Police make 2 OUI arrests in 2 hours
On Thursday, officers of the Wareham Police Department arrested two vehicle operators for OUI in two separate incidents between 9 and 10:30 p.m.
At approximately 9 p.m., a vehicle stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and Chapel Street was reportedly struck in the rear by a gray sedan that left the scene at a high speed.
After being provided with plate information and a description of the vehicle, Officer Jen Braley noticed the gray sedan had pulled into Robertson’s Auto Body on Rte. 28, approximately 2 miles from the reported incident. The male operator, 28 year old Adam Prunier of East Wareham, who was very uncooperative, attempted to walk away from Braley, who noted he appeared intoxicated. After a brief struggle and with the assistance of other officers, the male was placed into custody.
Prunier has been charged with OUI, Negligent Operation, Leaving the Scene, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Resisting Arrest, Operating After Suspension and Open Container Violation.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 48 Great Neck Road regarding a single vehicle accident involving a damaged utility pole, downed wires and a possible vehicle fire. The driver and only occupant, 30 year old Christopher Corcoran of Duxbury, was outside the vehicle in close proximity to the driver side and stated he misjudged the corner.
During investigation of the incident, Officer Blaise Lalli determined Duxbury was heavily intoxicated and placed him under arrest at the scene for OUI and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Both males were scheduled for arraignment this morning at Wareham District Court.
