The Wareham Police Department is seeking information regarding a suspect in an armed robbery that took place at Stop & Shop on Cranberry Highway on Tuesday, April 9, at approximately 7:20 p.m.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 50-years-old, with a heavy build. According to police, he was wearing a black jacket or shirt, sunglasses, and a baseball cap during the incident.

The suspect told an employee at the Customer Service desk that he had a gun, though he never showed a gun to the employee, police said. He left with an unknown amount of cash.

Police say that witnesses believed him to be intoxicated due to his "unsteady gait."

The man left the scene in a "light-colored, SUV-type vehicle," according to police.
