Wareham’s population has grown to 23,303 people, according to the most recently released data from the 2020 census.

In 2010, the last census counted 21,822 Wareham residents.

That means the population of the town has increased by nearly 7 percent — 1,481 people — over the last decade.

That increase is just slightly smaller than the population increase between the 2000 and 2010 censuses. In 2000, the town had a population of 20,335, which increased by 7.3 percent by 2010.

More detailed census information, including the income, education levels, and ethnicity of Wareham residents, will be released in the coming months.
