The Wareham Public Schools have been awarded a $15,000 grant to implement a financial literacy curriculum. The grant is part of a state program and will include professional learning materials and new curriculum resources.

“I am very pleased that Wareham Public Schools has been awarded a total of $15,0000 in grant resources to help implement financial literacy into the educational curriculum,” said Senator Pacheco.  “Financial literacy is critically important because it equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for effective long-term money management.  I am pleased to have supported these resources that will help students build a solid personal finance foundation and successfully transition from ‘surviving’ to ‘thriving’ – many thanks to all those who contributed to the successful grant proposal.”

The schools plan to use the grant to develop a financial literacy curriculum, integrate financial literacy themes into existing courses and provide professional development for teachers.
