Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer is here!
When there are weekend events happening over the summer, Wareham Week will feature them in this little round-up we like to call Wareham Weekend.

Without further ado, here’s what’s happening around Wareham this weekend.
Saturday, May 26
Outside the Box flea market begins
Thrift store Outside the Box will offer an outdoor flea market on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning May 26.
Nonprofit Outside the Box works in conjunction with People Helping People to raise funds to help the area homeless population and residents struggling with drug addiction.
Outside the Box is located at 83 Sandwich Road. Vendors interested in participating in the flea market can inquire at the shop.
Committee for the Homeless yard sale
The Wareham Area Committee for the Homeless will be holding its fourth annual yard sale on Saturday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rain date for the same time on Sunday, May 27.
The yard sale will be held at 51 Robinwood Road off of Onset Avenue.
Donations may be dropped off to Turning Point located at 6 Rogers Avenue at the Church of the Nazarene in Wareham.
Electronics can not be accepted. All other household items, including small furniture in good condition, will be accepted.
Sunday, May 27
Chicken and waffles for Jazz Fest
The Onset Beach Jazz Festival will host a Chicken and Waffles Brunch fundraiser on Sunday, May 27, from 11 to 3 p.m. at the Lodge of Elks on Cranberry Highway.
Tickets are $12 per person in advance, and $15 at the door. Take-out is available.
The Onset Beach Jazz Festival is a free concert scheduled for July 21. This year’s headliner is saxophonist Walter Beasley.
The Chicken and Waffles Brunch will feature music, dancing, raffles, and of course the traditional soul food combination of fried chicken atop syrup-drenched waffles.

Songs for the Sea
Songs for the Sea, a family-friendly concert to raise money for the National Marine Life Center, will take place on May 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buzzards Bay Park.
Wareham resident Grace Morrison is organizing the event with her band, Grace Morrison and the RSO, along with The Moldy Suitcases and Matt Borrello.
T-shirt sales and raffles at the concert will raise funds for the center, located in Buzzards Bay. A special Songs for the Sea shirt was designed by Wareham resident Naomi Oliver, a music student of Morrison’s.
Interactive activities for children will be available and Karl the King Krab will make an appearance.
