WCTV auction seeks donations, sponsors

Apr 19, 2011

The "WCTV LIVE Auction & Entertainment Weekend – Take 2" is scheduled for Friday, May 20 from 6 p.m. to midnight and Saturday, May 21 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club on Viking Drive.

The event is a fundraiser for WCTV and its nonprofit partners, the Boys & Girls Club of Wareham, Gianna’s House, and the Onset Bay Association's Summer of Love Series.

Event partners continue to seek auction items. Donations receive website and on-air acknowledgement relative to donation value. Visit www.warehamtv.org for donation perks, donation registration, and links to the nonprofit participants.

Hourly on-air sponsorship is new to the event year. The sponsor's script is aired twice during the hour with a live or over-the-phone on-air interview with emcee Scott Record. Business sign and/or product display, a yearly business membership to WCTV, and website and TV promos of the event are also part of the on-air sponsor package.

WCTV is also seeking donations of on-air services in the areas of health, beauty, art, consultation, or any service that can be completed in an hour or less for our bidder raffle. On-air updates are conducted with the business and recipient. For information about on-air sponsorships or services, contact Sally Morrison at sammorrison@comcast.net, 774-766-2740, or visit warehamtv.org.

Scott Record returns as the weekend emcee and brings professional acts with him. Carlston "Chops" Wood and Hard Drive will perform Friday and Soup Rock & Rhythm Review will perform Saturday. Guitarist Aaron Norcross of Dukes of Gravity will jam with both bands. Teddy Mathews & the Sing Along Singers will also perform on both nights. Kate McKenna will also return for Saturday’s event.

Narrows Crossing is the official caterer for the entertainers, partners, and volunteers.

In addition to entertainment, viewers can bid on a variety of auction items donated by local businesses. New this year, prize raffles will be held for live audience and phone auction bidders.

A live broadcast of the auction will air on channel 9 on Comcast and channel 30 on Verizon and will stream on www.warehamtv.org.
