WAREHAM – William S. Loud, 72, of Wareham, passed away on September 17, 2023, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth. He was the husband of Sheri L. (Leggee) Loud and the son of the late Walter H. Loud, Jr. and Beverly B. (Scholes) Loud.

He was born in Quincy and lived in Braintree and Wareham for many years. He graduated from Braintree High School.

Mr. Loud worked at McLaughlin Chevrolet in Whitman for several years before retiring. He also worked as a firefighter for the Braintree Fire Department in the 1970s.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and attending Laconia Bike Week and trips to the New England Dragway to watch the races. He also enjoyed camping. His happiest times were spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sheri L. (Leggee) Loud; 2 daughters, Lynn Rowell of Rockland and Carol Cardello of Braintree; 2 stepdaughters, Jennifer Shepardson of East Taunton and Sarah Manduca of Wareham; a stepson, Gregory Carter of Providence, RI; 2 brothers, Jeffrey Loud of NH and Walter Loud of Stoughton; 9 grandchildren, Connor, Owen, Ainslee, Gregory, Jason, Andrew, Nicholas, Lisa, and Kelly. He was the brother of the late Robert Loud.

His graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne. Please arrive at the cemetery fifteen minutes early.
