William T. 'Tommy' Clements, 73, Wareham Boys and Girls Club trustee, U.S. Air Force veteran
William T. “Tommy” Clements, 73, of Wareham, died September 17 at home after an illness. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Murphy) Clements and the son of the late Ollie Lee and Margaret (Birch) Clements.
He was born in Macon, Georgia, and lived in Wareham for many years. He served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Clements worked as a field engineer for National Cash Register throughout the Cape Cod and surrounding area for 33 years. He retired in 1994.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. He valued community service and had served on the Board of Trustees for the Wareham Boys and Girls Club and coached Wareham Girls Softball. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Kathleen A. (Murphy) Clements; two sons, Michael G. Clements and his wife Jessee of West Wareham, and Edward J. Clements and his wife Susan K. of West Wareham; five daughters, Karen Storey and her husband Paul of Chelmsford, Mary Clements of Taunton, Stephanie Clements of Beverly, Kathleen M. Clements, and Vincent Aguilar of Wareham and Sheila E. Clements of Wareham; 8 grandchildren, Edward, Joseph, Andre, Paul, Morgan, Michael, Laura, and Camden; several nephews, nieces, and friends including Lance Howlett of Wareham.
His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
