Woman in good condition after Sandwich Road crash
A woman injured when the sport utility vehicle she was driving collided with a stone wall and rolled on its side on Sandwich Road early Saturday morning is in good condition at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to hospital officials.
Mary Heney was airlifted to Boston after the accident, which occurred just before 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Wareham firefighters had to remove the windshield from the vehicle and extricate Heney from the wreck, said Wareham Fire Captain Ed Brundage. The vehicle ended up in the front yard of a Sandwich Road home.
Wareham EMS transported Heney to Tobey Hospital before the medical helicopter arrived.
A second vehicle - a sedan - was involved in the accident in some way. Its occupants were not injured.
The accident occurred adjacent to the Wareham EMS building, heading toward Cherry Street on Sandwich Road.
