From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, antique cars will be on display at the Woodie Car Show, which will be held at 158 Tihonet Rd. 

The event is being hosted by the Yankee Wood Chapter of the National Woodie Club, and it will feature classic Woodies. Woodies are cars — usually station wagons but not always — that feature real wood in the construction. Most were built from the early 1930s up until 1953, when they were phased out. Because the wood construction made maintenance and repairs difficult, the cars are rarities.

“The beauty of the antique cars matches up with the historic venue of A.D. Makepeace Company,” reads the description of the event. 

The car show will also feature live music. Makepeace Farms will be open during the event, selling treats and New England-inspired gifts.
