Yard sale to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The third annual bake sale and yard sale to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 28, at 10 Vernal Street in Wareham.
The sale is hosted by Lia McInerney — whose son Nathaniel suffers from cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disease that affects the lungs and digestive system — and her family.
Baked goods, household items, and toys will be sold, along with "Cure CF" bracelets and other handmade jewelry. McInerney's daughter, Brenna, will be doing face-painting.
The annual sale is the family's effort to increase awareness about cystic fibrosis.
"We are hoping to find a cure for Nathaniel and other children like him," said McInerney.
All proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which works to find a cure for the disease.
Additionally, the family will be completing the foundation's Great Strides Walk on the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne on May 19 and invites the community to walk as well.
