Yolanda Keefe, 84, regular at Gleason Family YMCA, loved reading
Yolanda Keefe, 84, of Wareham, died March 29, after a brief illness.
Yolanda was born in Quincy and lived in Brockton for most of her life. She retired to Wareham in 1990 after working 17 years at J.W. Wood Elastic Web Co. in Stoughton, 23 years at King Size Men’s Clothing in Brockton, and 10 years for Hallmark Greeting Cards.
Yolanda took great joy in her family and many friends. She was an avid reader and a regular at the Y, where she enjoyed time with her girlfriends. Thankfully she lived long enough to see her beloved Red Sox win two World Series.
She is survived by her dear friend and loving companion of 57 years, Priscilla Ness of Wareham, and her son, Robert W Keefe Jr. of Ramona, CA. She was the loving grandmother of Robert M. Keefe of East Bridgewater, Dayna L. Long of Whittier, CA, and Garrett H. Keefe of Ramona, CA, and great-grandmother of Riley Keefe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, at 3 p.m., followed by a celebratory gathering of Yolanda’s friends and family. A private burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater.
Yolanda was a true animal lover and if you prefer, donations can be made in her name to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers. For directions and online guestbook, visit: www.ccgfuneralhome.com.
