Turning Point to be featured on Applause for a Cause

Jan 20, 2014

Wareham Community Television will be helping raise money for Turning Point with its new event, Applause for a Cause.

WCTV will benefit Turning Point, which is a day resource center that helps the local homeless population.

The variety show has musicians, singers, a dancer, comic and a mentalist. Performers include Stephen Hettinger, Penny Kaylyn and Rick Dejesus, Michelle Bowlin, Mat Rose, Jess Smart, Hot Soup, Cassie Jordan, Cam Decas, Beautiful Tuesday, Aaron Norcross and Anthony Elicier.

The event began earlier this year, and aims to raise money for a worthy cause. Members were asked to submit the names of local causes. Selecting Turning Point was done through a “cause lottery” which was held Jan. 13 on Good Morning Wareham.

Applause for a Cause is Feb. 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Buzzards Play Productions will host the program. The event is free, but guests can make donations to Turning Point.

Applause for a Cause will be live on channel nine on Comcast, Channel 30 on Verizon & streaming on www.warehamtv.org.
