Amelia Amado, 86
Amelia Amado, 86, of Onset died August 19, 2010 at home. She was the daughter of the late Leon and Mary (Neves) Amado.
She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life.
Mrs. Amado worked as a teacher's aid at the Wareham High School for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Amado loved her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, collecting antiques and stamps.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Derakhshandeh and her husband Hoshang, of Annandale, VA, and Loretta Andrews, of Onset; two brothers, Edward and Manuel Amado, both of Onset; a sister, Olive Andrews, of Onset; five grandchildren, Mark Andrews, Nina Santos, Sarah, Rachel and Grant Amado; four great grandchildren, Ryan, Gabbi, Angelica and Amalia Santos; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Leon A. Amado and her brothers and sisters, Jeanette, Domingo, James, Frank and Lottie Amado.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte.28), Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
