Wareham man arrested on drug, gun charges in Plymouth
A Wareham man was among two arrested on gun and drug charges in Plymouth Thursday afternoon.
Benjamin Gomes, 29, of 2245 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, and Reginald Silva, 28, with a last known address of 193 Fairview Lane in Plymouth were arrested after police found an illegal firearm and drugs in a Plymouth hotel room.
Captain John Rogers of the Plymouth Police Department said they had received a report that drug paraphernalia and a firearm had been observed in a hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn on Home Depot Drive in Plymouth occupied by one of the individuals.
Officers were able to secure a search warrant, and upon entering the room, they reportedly discovered a 9mm handgun, suboxone, and two types of anabolic steroids.
The two were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, improperly storing a large capacity firearm (any weapon that holds more than 10 rounds of ammo), two counts of possession of a Class E substance (anabolic steroids) and one count of possession of a Class B substance (suboxone).
Further information said Silva was no longer living at the listed address.
