Richard E. Secher, 73, of Onset, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at his home unexpectedly.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Lillian (McPhee) and Edward M. Secher, Jr. He was a longtime resident of Mansfield before moving to the Cape in 1990. Mr. Secher was a graduate of Curry College in Milton and worked in the asset based commercial lending field for many years.

An avid golfer, he was a member of Plymouth Country Club. Mr. Secher was also president of the Bay Pointe Village Homeowners Association and was a current member of the Wareham Zoning Board of Appeals.

Survivors include his children, Larah E. McClain and her husband Mitchell and Shana E. Lundell and her husband David all of Bourne, Marli E. Piccolo and her husband Arthur of Tewksbury and Justin E. Secher of Onset; his brother of Edward M. Secher and his wife Fernanda of Onset; his sister, Pamela J. Pepe and her husband Robert of Dracut; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Fri., May 1 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
