Carol Ducey, 64
Carol J. (Holik) Ducey, 64, of Wareham, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the wife of John G. “Jack” Ducey.
Born in Cumberland, RI, she was the daughter of Cecile (LeFerrier) Holik of Cumberland, RI and the late Walter Holik.
Mrs. Ducey graduated from Rivier College in Nashua, NH and received her master’s degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She worked in the Anatomy and Histology Dept. at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Moving to Wareham 30 years ago, Mrs. Ducey was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, in Wareham, where she also served as Eucharistic minister. Mrs. Ducey was also one of the original volunteers at Damien’s Place Food Pantry in Wareham.
Besides her husband Jack and her mother Cecile, she is survived by her son Matt Ducey, a third year medical student at UMass Medical School, in Worcester; her brother Alan Holik, of Wareham, and several nieces.
Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
