UPDATE: Plymouth man struck by Wareham driver in stable condition
The 44-year-old Plymouth man who was seriously injured Tuesday evening by a Wareham man who was allegedly driving drunk, and using a suspended license, is in stable condition, according to the Wareham Police Department.
Police said they, the Onset Fire Department and EMS personnel responded to the report at 4 p.m. According to police, Mark Giberson, 36, of Wareham, hit a parked car, and then Everett J. Franklin, while Franklin was standing in a parking lot in the area of 367 Onset Ave. The man suffered serious injuries, and was taken to a Boston area hospital for treatment. The police department will not name the victim at this time.
The police said Wednesday afternoon Franklin is in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital.
Giberson himself did not suffer injury, police said. He was charged with the following offenses:
- OUI resulting in serious bodily inury
- Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
- Operating a motor vehicle while unlicensed
- Marked lanes violation
Giberson was arraigned Wednesday at Wareham's Fourth District Court.
