Buzzards Bay Coalition to hold series of free family outdoor explorations

Dec 14, 2015

The Buzzards Bay Coalition will hold a series of three free family exploration programs from Monday, Dec. 28 – Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Families will get fresh air, while discovering creatures that live in our region during the colder winter months.

At Little Harbor Beach on Monday, Dec. 28, families will explore the seashore on a scavenger hunt and create beach art with our findings. During the second program on Tuesday, Dec. 29, they will learn how to use a compass and practice orienteering skills during a hike at Horseshoe Mill. Finally, at Minot Forest on Wednesday, Dec. 30, they will search for critters that have sought shelter in the warmth of the woods and participate in a photo scavenger hunt.

Winter Vacation Family Exploration is recommended for families with school-aged children. The Coalition encourages families to attend all three programs, but it is not required.
