Frank G. Andrade, 87, of Johnston, Rhode Island, formerly of Wareham, died Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Providence VA Medical Center.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Joseph G. & Charlotte (Travers) Andrade. A previous resident of Los Angeles, California, for 30 years, he moved to Wareham in 1993.

Mr. Andrade served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post # 252 in Los Angeles. He was also a member of the Cape Verdean American Veterans Association and the NAACP. Mr. Andrade worked as a tool smith and retired from Smith Tools in California after 20 years of employment.

Survivors include his daughters, Charita Carter, of Waterbury, Connecticut; Brenda Perry, of Florida, and Joy Andrade, of Raleigh, North Carolina; his sister, Rose Andrade, of Providence, Rhode Island; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughters, the late Victoria Santos, Barbara Andrade and Carla Andrade; his brothers, the late Joe, Armando and Edward Andrade and his sisters, the late Julia Gay and Francelia Monterio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 12 at St. Patrick’s Church, High St. at 9 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours have been omitted.
