Daniel R. Taber, 49, of Onset died Tuesday, May 3 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of Hazel E. (Leach) Taber of Wareham and the late George F. Taber, Jr. A graduate of Wareham High School in 1985, he continued his education at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and received his bachelor’s degree in English. Daniel worked as manager at Little Harbor Golf Club and most recently as a clerk for Onset Village Hardware. He was a past member of the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel E. Taber of Wareham; his brother, Jeffrey A. Taber of Wareham; his sister, Suzanne A. Taber of West Wareham; his nieces, Jessica, Ashley and Courtney; his great nephews, Daniel and Emmett; his Godchild, Harley and his companion, Margaret Sullivan of Onset. Also surviving are his beloved boys, his cats.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends may visit on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
