Heavy traffic hampers response to Route 25 crash

Wareham Firefighters and EMS responded to a car crash on Route 25 south Thursday afternoon at approximately 1 p.m.

According to initial emergency broadcasts, a 93-year-old woman was taken from the scene to Tobey Hospital where she was taken by helicopter for treatment.

Broadcasts stated she was “conscious and alert” but suffered severe hip pain.

Crews reported having difficulty getting to the accident due to heavy traffic at the time. State Police assisted at the scene.

The woman’s condition is not known at this time.
