Wareham Youth Soccer repaints bleachers for community service
The Wareham Bograts, one of the teams in the Wareham Youth Soccer Program, spent a couple hours in the sun repainting bleachers at John W. Decas Elementary School on Saturday.
"This needed painting so we volunteered to do it," said coach and president of the club, Bob Catarius.
Ten of the teams' members came to repaint the bleachers in Wareham blue. Having played on the Minot Forest Elementary School soccer field in the past, the team will begin playing at Decas in the fall on a regulation-sized field (accommodating games that are 11 players versus 11 players).
"They did great," said Catarius. "They all showed up at 2 o'clock and went right to work.
Catarius said the bleachers were painted eight to ten years ago by the same soccer team (but different players), and that it was a great team-building exercise as well as an act of community service.
