The third annual Brent Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Bay Pointe Country Club at 1 p.m. The event will be followed by a dinner at the club.

The cost is $500 per team and $125 per golfer, and it will be a scramble style tournament with a shotgun start.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Herren Project via the Brent Hastings Memorial Fund. The Herren Project helps to increase awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and helps victims and families affected by it.

The Brent Hastings Memorial Fund was founded in 2014 as a way to honor the memory of Brent Hastings, who passed away from a heroin overdose in 2014. To date, more than $33,000 has been raised to support substance use disorder education, awareness and recovery programs.

Those not interested in playing golf can still attend the dinner, which is $25 and will follow the golf tournament.
