Anthony J. Mazzarini, Sr., 87, of Wareham died Oct. 24 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Dolores P. (Agostinelli) Mazzarini.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Anna (Garadozzi) Mazzarini. He was a previous resident of East Boston and moved to Wareham in 1968. Mr. Mazzarini worked as a security guard for Bank of Boston retiring in 1996.

Mr. Mazzarini served in the U.S. Air Force for over 15 years. He was discharged in 1962 as staff sergeant. He was a member of the Benjamin D. Cushing V.F.W. Post #2425 in Marion, Improved Order of Redmen, Lodge #156 in Wareham and the Wareham/New Bedford Lodge of Elks #73 in Wareham.

He is survived by his children, Dorena McWilliams and Anthony J. Mazzarini, Jr. both of Wareham; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Louis and Jack Mazzarini and Josephine Bagerly.

His funeral service will be held on Oct. 27 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt., 28), Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
