Kathleen Heitman, 77
Kathleen (McEnaney) Heitman, 77, died Nov. 18 at her home in West Wareham. She was a long-time resident of Newton having lived there for 72 years before retiring to West Wareham.
Kathleen was a 1961 graduate of Emmanuel College, and New England School of Law. For close to 50 years she was an educator having taught for 42 years at the former Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton as an advanced placement teacher in US History. Upon retirement, she was a substitute teacher at the Wareham Middle School. She received numerous awards and recognition as an exceptional educator.
She leaves her husband Charles of 50 years; three children, Christopher and his wife Kelly of Framingham, Tracey Sundstrom and her husband Christopher of Walpole, and Newton Fire Captain Mark Heitman and his wife Theresa of Framingham. She also leaves four wonderful and loving grandchildren, Meagan, Brian, and Erin Sundstrom of Walpole, and Ava Heitman of Framingham. She also leaves her sister Julie Quinn and her husband Frank of Cary, North Carolina and her brother in law Clinton Heitman of West Roxbury. She also leaves her best friend Roberta Tibbetts of Falmouth. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anne McEnaney, and her sister Mary Elizabeth Gilbert.
Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham at 9 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
