Alfred Foley Jr., 70
Alfred J. Foley Jr., 70, of Wareham passed away Nov. 15 at Milton Hospital. Mr. Foley was the husband of the late Roberta A. (Pipher) Foley. He was born in Waltham the son of the late Alfred J. and Hazel (Robinson) Foley.
He attended Whitman Public Schools and graduated in 1964. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a tax auditor from 1974 to 2010 and was also a bartender for many years at Zeadey’s and Charlie’s Place. In 1999, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth with a bachelors degree in psychology. An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed music, playing his guitar, walking and spending time with his dogs. A black belt in martial arts he also was a martial arts instructor.
Fred is survived by his former wife Elizabeth (Rice) Foley of Plymouth their children, Alfred J. Foley III of Oklahoma and Meghan Foley of Quincy. He also is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Maureen Levesque and her husband Ken, of Florida, Dottie Kelley and her husband Dan of Plymouth, Patty Bossa and her husband Tom of Florida, John Foley of Tennessee and Peggy Trevains of Dorchester. He was the nephew of Jeanne Magner of Scituate. He was the son in-law of Evelyn A. (Brown) Pipher of Wareham and the late Robert Pipher. He was the brother in-law of Robert Pipher of Foxboro, David Pipher and Diane Pipher, both of Wareham and the late Michael Pipher and Debbie Merry. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center St. Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
