A car crashed into a utility pole in Bourne Thursday morning causing a power outage in the 3000 block of Cranberry Highway in Wareham.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Head of the Bay Road and Pine Ridge Road, just across the Wareham town line. According to emergency broadcasts, Wareham Police and EMS were on the scene first because at the time it was unclear if the accident occurred in Wareham or Bourne.

A portion of Head of the Bay Road was closed while Eversource employees worked to replace the pole that had been brought down during the crash.

The car’s driver was transported from the scene by Bourne EMS for treatment.
