Healey-Driscoll administration announces new affordable senior rental homes

Aug 4, 2025

The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced $182 million to give to 21 rental housing developments with Wareham’s Cranberry Manor Phase II being one of many.

These awards were made possible in part through the Affordable Homes Act and by Governor Healey’s tax cuts package, which raised the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit to $60 million annually.

“Our administration is working on all fronts to build more reasonably-priced housing and lower costs for everyone,” said Governor Healey.

The Cranberry Manor Phase II is a new construction project for seniors located at 2220 Cranberry Highway in West Wareham.

Phase II will be built adjacent to the existing and occupied Cranberry Manor. When completed, the project will offer 40 total units.

All units will be affordable to seniors earning less than 60% of the area median income, with eight units further reserved for seniors earning less than 30% of the area median income and, in some cases, transitioning from homelessness.
