New Planet Fitness promises 'judgement free' workout
Planet Fitness, the rapidly expanding gym that touts itself as a “judgement free zone,” is coming to Wareham with plans to open at 2991 Cranberry Highway, in the Cranberry Plaza, next month.
Jonathan Epstein, the owner of the Wareham gym as well as 13 other Planet Fitnesses across the state, says it’s scheduled to open sometime in March.
“Whether you’ve never belonged to a gym before or you’re an existing gym member looking to try a new facility, we encourage you to come check out the Wareham club, meet our friendly staff, get a tour and see what the ‘judgement free zone’ is all about,” said Epstein.
Epstein, who is the chief marketing officer of Core Development and Management, LLC, said the prospect of a new Planet Fitness has been embraced by residents well before the gym’s doors open.
“The interest has been massive. We’re getting excellent feedback the chamber of commerce, surrounding towns – everyone has been very positive, we’re excited,” said Epstein.
He encouraged those interested in more information or memberships to visit its “pre-sale office,” which is a trailer set up in the Cranberry Plaza for potential clients. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Residents may sign up there in person or online at www.planetfitness.com. Epstein said a promotion is ongoing now until Feb. 28. Clients may purchase memberships for $1 down and then $10 a month with no commitment.
Membership will give clients access to the roughly 20,000-square-foot workout space that includes cardio training equipment, free weights, tanning beds, massage chairs and more. All memberships include a variety of other benefits, such as unlimited small group fitness instruction by a certified trainer.
The gym will be open Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
