Jean Therese Donahue of Parkwood Beach died peacefully after a brief illness on Feb. 28 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Edwin R. and Sarah (Chaffee) Craddock. Mrs. Donahue graduated from Howard High School in West Bridgewater where she lived for many years. Also a resident of Brockton, she summered in Parkwood Beach in Wareham for many years before moving there year-round in 1962.

While raising her children, Mrs. Donahue worked at various times as a hair stylist, as a caterer for Breen’s Catering in Brockton, and as a secretary for the Judge Advocate General’s Office at OTIS ANGB in Bourne. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Tobey Hospital Guild and the Monday Club.

She was adept at needlework, sewing, ceramics, wood working, cake decorating and chair caning, and she was an excellent cook. She was devoted to and loved regaling her family with her artistic propensity for decorating and festooning during the holidays and for family celebrations. She was an avid boater and a world traveler.

She is survived by her children, Kevin J. Donahue of Brooksville, Florida, John T. Donahue, Marybeth Fernandes, Gregg P. Donahue, and Danielle A. Donahue all of Wareham; her sisters, Janet Drury of Onset and Connie Romboli of Hyannis; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, the late Marjorie Carver. She was also predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Donahue.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Thursday, March 9 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
