The Family Pantry-Damien's Place seeks donations for Feinstein Challenge
During March and April the Family Pantry-Damien's Place will take part in the Feinstein Challenge.
Any foods, funds, or pledges donated in regards to the Feinstein Challenge will be matched - up to $1 million nationally. The challenge is among the largest grassroots efforts to fight hunger in America.
For more than 20 years Damien's Place has been working to end hunger in Wareham. Father Gabriel Healy and Father Tom McElroy began the pantry with the assistance of many volunteers, some of whom continue to serve at the Pantry.
"There are a lot of people that help us," said Father Healy. "People say we deserve the credit, but it's them who deserve credit."
The Pantry, located at 3065 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham, is open Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Food donations can also be made at Shop & Stop Supermarket on Cranberry Highway or Shaw's Supermarket on Marion Road.
