Police make drug-related arrests
Wareham Police arrested six individuals in three separate drug-related incidents during the past several weeks:
Marijuana in the mail. On March 22, police arrested 29-year-old Kene Norton of Atlanta, GA, charging him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Police were alerted by U.S. Postal Inspectors that a suspicious package arrived at the Wareham Post Office on Main Street.
Wareham detectives and postal inspectors arrested Norton a short distance from the Post Office after he took possession of the package. Police said the package contained approximately five pounds of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana having a street value of approximately $10,000.
Heroin at the motel. After receiving complaints of drug activity at the Rosewood Motel at 3115 Cranberry Highway, Wareham Police conducted surveillance of the motel over an approximate three-week period. The information gathered resulted in the arrest of three people on drug charges.
On March 21, detectives arrested Christina Crosby, 23, and Richard C. Norris III, 31, both of the Rosewood Motel, along with Anthony Tropeano, 34, of 52 Cypress St., Buzzards Bay. All three are charged with possession of Class A heroin and being present where heroin is kept.
Drugs in a home. After several weeks of investigation, a search warrant was executed at 64 Warr Ave. in the Pinehurst section of Wareham. Wareham SWAT Team members and detectives entered the residence early in the morning on March 8.
Alison O’Leary, 44, and Eric Reed, 45, both living at 64 Warr, were arrested and charged with four counts of possession with the intent to distribute.
