Wareham officials respond to swimmer in distress at Onset Beach

Wareham first responders treated a swimmer in distress at Onset Beach Sunday at approximately 6:35 p.m.
Department of Natural Resources officials report that the victim was removed from the water by a good Samaritan. When first responders arrived, the victim was semi-conscious and answering questions, according to officials.
The Onset Fire Department, Wareham EMS and Department of Natural Resources provided first aid. The victim was then taken to Tobey Hospital for treatment.
