Wareham Selectmen OK new managers at 2 liquor stores
Anchor Liquors and Wines & More have new managers after Selectmen approved a pair of requests on Monday night.
At Wines & More, Selectmen OK’d naming Bill Rizzini of Riverside, Rhode Island as the store’s new manager. Rizzini said he’s worked for the liquor retailer the past eight years, helping to open its Mansfield store. He noted he has a total of 27 years of retail management experience.
Rizzini said some changes are in store for Wines & More, located at Wareham Crossing, including a redesign of the store’s interior and the hiring of new staff.
“A lot of good changes are coming our way,” Rizzini said.
Regarding Anchor Liquors, Selectmen approved naming Ayushi Patel as the store’s new manager. According to Patel’s lawyer, she and other investors formed a new company, AJ Food Corporation, to buy the store, which is located at 2360 Cranberry Highway.
Patel has experience managing Debucas Wine & Liquors in Raynham. She said no major changes are planned for the store.
Under state law, changes to a store's liquor license, such as location or who is listed as manager, require approval from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission and the local issuing authority, in this case the Board of Selectmen.
