A State Police officer and a 25-year-old New Bedford woman were treated for non life-threatening injuries after the officer's cruiser was struck on Route 25 Wednesday afternoon. Both were transported to Tobey Hospital for treatment.

The officer, who was on a patrol out of the Middleborough Barracks, was parked in the center median near Exit 2 inside the cruiser, a 2015 Ford Interceptor Utility. The woman was reported to be driving a 2007 Honda Civic eastbound on Route 25 when for reasons still under investigation, she veered into the cruiser, striking its passenger side, police said.

The crash remains under investigation. State Police said no further information is being released at this time.
