Edward Holleran, 74

Edward F. Holleran, 74, of Wareham died Sept. 19 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a brief illness. He was the husband of Marie D. (DaLomba) Holleran.

Born in Geneva, New York, he was the son of the late John E. and Mary L. (Rice) Holleran.

Mr. Holleran enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 and served until 1966 and was discharged from active duty at Otis Air Force Base. He resided in Wareham and was a guard at Bridgewater State Hospital before becoming a police officer on the Wareham Police Department. He retired from the department in 1985.

Mr. Holleran enjoyed tinkering with cars, bicycles, and small engines, and he enjoyed watching car shows on television. He also was an avid Boston sports fan.

Survivors include his wife Marie; his children, Michael Holleran of Wareham, Brittney Holleran of Foxboro, Matthew Holleran of Providence, Rhode Island and Shawn Holleran of Taunton; and his granddaughter, Audriana C. Justin.  He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Richard Holleran and Stephen Holleran.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Monday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m.
